Settling In

   We are still trying to wrap our heads around the fact that this amazing place is ours.  

   The weather has been perfect, with glorious sunshine during the days - and an occasional impressive thunderstorm in the evening.    (Though everyone here says that these storms are not the norm.) 

   I am still getting turned around on the upper floors, and not entirely sure what rooms are where.  On the second and third floors (for you Europeans that would be the first and second floors) the Villa is laid out with long hallways with rooms and closets off of them.   Where things become maze-like.  is that the rooms also mostly open off of each other as well.  So sometimes it ends up being a surprise to find myself not quite where I thought I was! 

   We are planning on going through all the rooms to make comprehensive lists of what is missing, what changes we'd like to make, and some decor ideas.   The previous owners left a great deal more furnishings that we expected, but at the same time there are also lots of bare spots on the walls where art work once was.   

    I will be putting together a series of posts that will be a sort of walking tour of the place - with photos of each room, and eventually the gardens as well. 

   Lots of work to be done -!
